Sweet Rice Balls (Kozhukatta)

1) Rice Flour – 1 cups
2) Grated Coconut – 4 tSP
3) Hot Water – 1/4 Cup
4) Salt – 1/4 tsp
5) Oil – 2 tbsp

For making the Core of Kozhikatta

Sweet Coconut Mixture

1) Grated Coconut – 1/2 Cup
2) Grated Jagery – 1/2 Cup
3) Cardamom Powder- 1/2 tsp


1) Sift together Rice flour, and salt.
2) Mix all the Ingredients and make it a soft dough (similar to chappathi dough).I added Oil to make the dough soft.Keep it aside for 5 to 10 mins
3) In another pan mix Grated Coconut, Grated Jagery, Cardamom Powder properly.
4) Now make small balls of lemon size from the dough,roll it with ur hand and make small patties.
5) In the center of the patties keep 1/2 tsp of the Sweet Coconut Mixture and seal it. Again roll it properly.Dont let the mixture to come out of the dough while rolling or sealing.Keep the Balls aside.
6)Now cook the Balls in a pressure pan or idilli pan.

:- Dont cook the Balls by boiling it in water. It should be cooked in the similar way as Idilli is cooked.

:- You can make Sweet Coconut Mixture by using Sugar instead of Jagery.

Serve it hot.
